Here are salient points of the new extended warranty program in effect May 1 2003: The extended warranty is valid for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase of the Boomerang or Boomerang2 device; All existing customers will automatically benefit from this extended warranty. As the install base of Boomerang devices matures, this program offers all existing customers additional peace of mind without the worry of having to incur any unplanned repair expenses; All existing customers will be subject to the new service fees only at the time of the renewal of their service agreement; Boomerang Tracking will provide customers the opportunity to benefit from cost-savings when purchasing multi-year service agreements, specifically 3-year terms which are not affected. 	The Boomerang device sends a signal at regular intervals providing us with confirmation that the unit is functional.

   

	Is it possible to install a Boomerang device in marine craft?
	The Boomerang device may also be installed in marine craft over 25' (boat, cargo, etc.) A water resistant unit is available for this purpose. Installation and service fees are the same as the original Boomerang device and the unit costs are similar.

   

	Can I have a Boomerang device installed in my motorcycle?
	For the moment, we do not recommend the installation of the Boomerang device in these types of vehicles. While larger vehicles offer a multitude of places where a Boomerang device may be hidden, smaller vehicles offer only a few possible locations, compromising the Boomerang device’s security.

   

	Can I have a Boomerang device installed in my heavy equipment?
	The Boomerang device is an excellent way to protect heavy equipment from being stolen. Installation and service fees are the same as the regular Boomerang and the unit costs are similar.

	The Boomerang2 device is a wireless-based tracking device used to track stolen vehicles and provides instant theft notification. Since it utilizes the wireless network system, stolen vehicles can be located everywhere, even if they are inside buildings, in shipping containers or underground.

	What is the guarantee with the Boomerang2 device?
	If we do not recover your stolen vehicle, we give you a new Boomerang2 device and pay for your service fees for as long as you own your new vehicle or refund you the price of the Boomerang2 device including installation and all service fees.

   

	I do not know where my Boomerang2 device is installed in my vehicle. How can I be sure it actually works?
	Once your Boomerang2 device is installed, it is activated.

   

Is there any way to counter the Boomerang2 device? Have thieves found a way to stop the signal?

No. The proof remains in our consistent recovery rate of over $100,000 a day in recovered stolen assets. This is why a majority of Canadian insurance companies offer various incentives to their clients who have a Boomerang device installed in their vehicles and in some cases mandate the installation of the Boomerang device on high-end and high-risk vehicles. What happens in case my vehicle is stolen?

If your vehicle becomes mobile without one of your Key Fobs on board, the unit will immediately send a message to our tracking team and a track will be initiated. A member of our tracking team will contact you immediately, after which you must obtain a report number from the police, which is necessary for tracking purposes. Once the vehicle is found, the tracking team will contact the police and advise them of its location. The police will then contact you. This procedure will take 1 hour, on average.

   

	Why don't you provide your customers with a sticker, which would warn potential thieves that the vehicle is equipped with a Boomerang2?
	Boomerang Tracking's success is attributable, in part, to the fact that no one but the installer knows where the device is installed. It may be hidden in several hundred different locations in the vehicle. If we would put a sticker on the vehicle of our clients, thieves may be tempted to look for the device and dismantle or cause damage to the vehicle.

   

	What is the Boomerang2 device's operating range? If my vehicle is in an area not covered by a wireless zone, how do you proceed?
	The Boomerang2 device is functional anywhere across North America. If the vehicle is in a cellular 'dead zone', our technology still allows us to locate the vehicle with accuracy.

   

	What happens if I change vehicles or if I sell my vehicle?
	The Boomerang2 device is transferable to both a vehicle and/or a new owner. It is important that you let us know about any changes that you intend to make by contacting our customer service department at 1.877.777.8722.

   

	Can the Boomerang2 device monitor people?
	No, we do not, under any circumstances, monitor individuals.

What do I do in case of a theft?

I want to sell my vehicle...

1. Can I install my Boomerang/Boomerang2 device in my new vehicle? 2. Can I sell my Boomerang/Boomerang2 device to the owner of my old vehicle? 1. It is possible to transfer the Boomerang/Boomerang2 device from your old vehicle to your new one. To do so, you must make an appointment at our offices on Des Grandes Prairies Boulevard or at any of our Authorized Dealers. For your convenience, it is preferable that you go back to the dealer that installed your unit. Contact your installer for prices. 2. Another alternative is to sell the unit to the new owner of your old vehicle. To do so, you must notify us of the transfer of ownership by calling us at 514.234.8722 or 1.877.777.8722. In some cases, prepaid service fees may be reimbursed, with restrictions. Contact our Customer Service department at 1.877.777.8722 for more details and to discuss your particular situation further. You can also sell the unused time to a new owner if you sell or transfer ownership of your vehicle.

   

	What will happen if I store my vehicle for a while?
	Should you decide to store your vehicle, please notify our customer service department. Your Boomerang device is equipped with a back-up battery that will last several days. If your vehicle’s battery dies, we will cease to receive a signal after five days. While your vehicle is in storage, service fees will continue to be charged.

   

	If I should decide to sell my Boomerang unit or cancel my contract, will I be refunded my service fees I paid in advance?
	In some cases, prepaid service fees may be reimbursed, with restrictions. Contact our Customer Service department at 1.877.777.8722 for more details and to discuss your particular situation further. You can also sell the unused time to a new owner if you sell or transfer ownership of your vehicle.

   

	May I have access to my car’s location via the Internet?
	We do not offer this service. We will only initiate tracking procedures once you have reported the theft to law enforcement authorities. This policy is in place to protect our customers’ privacy.

   

	Can you monitor people with the Boomerang tracking devices?
	We do not, under any circumstances, monitor individuals.

   

	Can you track a vehicle not in a cellular zone?
	Yes, tracking your vehicle is still possible. If the vehicle is in a cellular ‘dead zone’, we take the last signal that the unit registered and track it from there using remote cellular tracking devices.
