"My
car is not only an integral part of my being
able to earn a living, I am also a car nut
who is almost fanatical in my attachment to
my vehicle.
I
live in Toronto and have had 2 cars stolen
right out of my driveway. One was taken for
a 4000 km joyride, stripped of my personal
effects, run out of oil and left out in a
week's worth of rain with all the windows
and sunroof left open. The car as barely worth
repairing after it was recovered 28 days later.
My 6 month old Camry LE was stolen on Mothers
Day and ended up in a container in Vietnam.
Luckily, I had replacement insurance but it
didn't cover the anxiety and lost time and
money that I had to endure.
When
I purchased my new Solara, my dealer recommended
that I purchase your product. Not only did
I save on my insurance - which is considerable,
but I also have peace of mind knowing that
even if the theft rings that frequent our
neighbourhood are able to get past my ignition
disabler, I can still have them tracked down
and arrested with the Boomerang. I have recommended
your product to anyone who is purchasing a
new car, or who has a car that they care deeply
about.
Thank
you for this very viable and reasonably priced
solution.

Boomerang
[Tracking] occupies a highly favorable position
with Canadian insurers. The Boomerang Tracking
System has been instrumental in improving
profit-to-loss ratios due to fewer vehicle
losses and reduced theft claims. With tracked
and incidental recoveries of almost 1,700
vehicles, representing savings of over $84
million for insurance companies to date, there
is no competitor in sight with a comparable
technology and success rate.

Ever
since we've joined forces with this Company
in 1996 we've seen its Boomerang Tracking
System take off. And it's no wonder. Not only
do the Boomerang and Boomerang2 devices meet
the needs of security-minded vehicle owners,
but they also provide a wireless service provider
like Bell Mobility with additional revenue
streams. As always, we look forward to working
with Boomerang Tracking, as its growth continues
across Ontario and Quebec."

Law Enforcement
Since
the inception of Project Lock-Up, launched
on January 1, 2001 to promote vehicle theft
prevention and repression to the residents
of Hampstead (and launched nationwide in June
2002), there has been a 67% reduction in vehicle
theft and a 47% drop in thefts from within
vehicles in the Hampstead region compared
to the year 2000. These numbers alone tell
only part of Project Lock-Ups success
story. Thats because they do not include
incidental recoveries of other stolen vehicles
equipped with a Boomerang tracking device.

"During
the past several months the Vancouver Police
Department has been involved in the apprehension
of several professional car theives that target
vehicles with high performance parts. These
thieves employed highly sophisticated methods
that included bypassing alarms, renting vehicles
and using radio communications.Between January
and June 2001 over 50 vehicles were stolen
and stripped for profit, with an average claim
cost of $10,000 per vehicle and a total cost
to the public of over half a million.
Two Detective Constables were fortunate enough
to be introduced to Boomerang Tracking during
the summer of 2000 at the International Auto
Theft Conference held in Richmond, BC. Upon
learning that this company supplies tracking
devices for vehicles, the Detectives were
anxious to to work with a Boomerang representative
to incorporate this technology into their
investigations. Their coordinated work eventually
resulted in the Vancouver Police acquiring
a valuable weapon to aid us in our battle
against auto theft, British Columbia's first
"Bait Car".
Thanks
to the Boomerang bait car, the subsequent
identification and arrests of the suspects
has had a great impact on the theft and stripping
of high performace vehicles. Although this
program was inaugurated by the Vancouver Police
Department, it will be shared by all BC Police
agencies.
On behalf of the Vancouver Police Department,
I would like to express my sincere appreciation
to Boomerang Tracking for providing our Target
Team with the technology to combat auto theft.
We are convinced that the bait car will contribute
significantly to a reduction in auto theft
and an increase in the apprehension of those
responsible for these crimes."
