Boomerang
Tracking has made strong inroads into the Ontario
market. Luckily for one Thornhill resident
The crime
Bright
and early one morning, a Thornhill woman was
unpleasantly surprised to find that her 2000
Lexus LX 470 had disappeared - right from her
driveway. Anyone else would have panicked on
the spot. Not her. By choice, her luxury vehicle
- valued at over $80,000 - was equipped with
a Boomerang® tracking device, Canada's premier
stolen vehicle recovery solution.
The
track
As
soon as she noticed that her car was missing,
she contacted Boomerang Tracking to report the
theft. Within less than an hour, our in-house
tracking team had tracked the stolen Lexus to
- of all places - the parking lot of a Mississauga
hotel, not the most obvious destination for
a stolen vehicle.
The
recovery
Much like other Tracking Tales, the recovery
of the 2000 Lexus LX 470 revealed not only the
stolen Lexus, but also led the Peel Police Auto
Theft Unit to four additional stolen vehicles:
a BMW 328, Toyota Sequoia, Acura MDX and Dodge
RAM. In total, the five vehicles are estimated
to be worth almost $300,000. In addition to
this impressive vehicle recovery, the operation
also enabled the police to arrest three individuals
on the scene.
The
Epilogue
What is the moral of this Tracking Tale? Said
best by the satisfied Boomerang Tracking client:"The
Boomerang is undoubtedly the most important
tool to guard against the loss of a car from
theft. The challenge is now to educate the public
about the availability of the product, and to
educate the insurance companies on how beneficial
the presence of a Boomerang is to them. Our
insurance company saved $80,000 due to our car
having a Boomerang [tracking device], yet they
do not offer a discount on premiums to those
with such a device!"
A
Manhattan mystery à la Boomerang
Ever
thought you would hear about a tracking tale
in New York City? Well, Boomerang Tracking took
a bite out of the Big Apple. Boomerang Tracking
successfully recovered a GMC Suburban from the
streets of downtown Manhattan. THE Manhattan,
as in New York City, U.S.A., miles from Canada's
borders.
The
crime
When the call came from a vacationing Boomerang
client during late afternoon, our tracking team
knew it had a Manhattan mystery on our hands.
The evidence? An ominous empty space where Steven
(not his real name) had parked his 1997 GMC
Suburban at the corner of 2nd avenue and 83rd
street.
The
track
After Steven frantically contacted Boomerang
Tracking, an initial location was identified
in the New York City area. A tracking team,
of course, was dispatched to Manhattan, where
the track continued on the ground.
The recovery
Once on the ground in New York City, the tracking
team focused on the Boomerang device's signal
emanating from the GMC Suburban. How? Via the
Company's compatible cellular network in the
area. Within 40 minutes, Boomerang Tracking
located the vehicle and contacted the relieved
owner.
The
Epilogue
After clarifying the situation with the Manhattan
police on the case, the Boomerang owner was
free to enjoy the remainder of his vacation
secure in the knowledge that our in-house trackers
are standing by to protect Boomerang-equipped
vehicles every second of the day - and are always
only a phone call away.
