MONTREAL, QUEBEC--R.A.N.K.I.N. Technologies Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Pierre Laurin as Member to the Board of Directors of the Company. Mr. Laurin is executive-in-residence at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) since January 1999. He has pursued a successful career in the business and academic worlds, and was previously Vice-Chairman of Merrill Lynch Canada and Dean of HEC. Mr. Laurin is presently member of the Board of Quebecor, Microcell, Desjardins Financial, Aeterna Laboratories, ProCrea and charitable organizations. He is also an Officer of the Order of Canada.

Mr. Laurin's keen insight of the communications and financial industries will help to lead Rankin Technologies' rapid growth across Canada and globally.
