Thanks to its cellular based tracking device, Boomerang Tracking Inc. (TSE:BMG) recovered almost $1.5 million in stolen assets in only three days.
This impressive total was the result of five different thefts:
·Two Mercedes ML430s and a BMW X5 were stolen in Vancouver. The theft led Boomerang trackers to McAllan, Texas near the Mexican border leading to three arrests and the recovery of the three vehicles; ·The recovery of a Jaguar V6 led to the arrest of two individuals charged with extorsion, carrying illegal firearms, kidnapping and vehicle theft; ·A stolen 2000 MACK truck was recovered in St.-Jean-Baptiste, Quebec with its cargo of approximately 30 Bombardier snowmobiles still aboard; ·Two valuable convertibles, a 2002 BMW 325 CI and a 2001 Mercedes SLK 230, were returned to their owners after being stolen in British Columbia. Both were soon recovered with the help of police in the United States; ·A stolen MACK cement pumping-station truck valued at over $800,000 was found in Sault-St-Marie, Ontario shortly after being reported stolen from Longueuil, Quebec.
“Boomerang’s success is due to several unique factors: the cellular based tracking device is always hidden in a different place in each vehicle and is installed by certified and bonded technicians only, stolen vehicles are tracked by the company’s in-house team providing instant response to theft 24 hours a day and the device cannot be detected therefore providing the highest level of security to the vehicle owner. Most stolen vehicles are recovered within one hour from the time they are reported stolen, thus minimizing damage to stolen property, if any, and safely returning the vehicle with its contents” commented Peter Lashchuk, the Company’s president.
Boomerang Tracking Systems have led to the recovery of over 1,300 vehicles and other valuable assets, valued at more than $65 million. Over 40 insurance companies have recognized Boomerang’s effectiveness and either recommend or mandate its installation in high risk or high-end vehicles. To date, more than 84,000 vehicles are protected by a Boomerang device. The Boomerang Tracking Systems are distributed in Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia and are capable of tracking stolen assets throughout North America.
