Boomerang Leads Police to Another Chop Shop and Over $250,000 in Stolen Assets

Boomerang Tracking Inc. (TSX:BMG) today announced that it successfully tracked a stolen pickup truck to a chop shop in Berthierville, Quebec, leading to the recovery of 10 cars in total, plus a wide range of engines and other stolen vehicle parts.

A thief stole a 2000 GMC 1500 pickup, valued at close to $29,000, from a parking lot located in Ste. Jerome, Quebec at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18. The owner immediately contacted local authorities, notifying them that his truck was equipped with a Boomerang® Tracking System. Boomerang Tracking’s in-house team was notified and tracked the stolen vehicle to an 4,000-square-foot chop shop in Berthierville, Quebec, where authorities recovered the pickup truck among nine intact and disassembled vehicles, along with other valuable assets.

In addition to recovering new/near-new engines and parts “chopped” from an undisclosed number of vehicles, the theft led to the recovery of the following vehicles:

· Ford Excursion (valued at $54,895)
· GMC 1500 (valued at $28,535)
· GMC Sierra (valued at $40,115)
· Mercedes C230 (valued at $44,000)
· Chrysler PT Cruiser (valued at $23,600)
· Chrysler Intrepid (valued at $26,520)
· Ford F-350 (valued at $32,520)

The recoveries represent a value of over $250,000 (excluding other incidental recoveries).
