Boomerang Tracking leads Sûreté du Québec to stolen meat trailers
Over $300,000 in recoveries, two arrests made

In the early hours of October 27, 2003, Boomerang Tracking Inc. received an automatic theft notification from a Boomerang2™-equipped International 9100, valued at approximately $100,000 from St-Louis-de-Gonzague, Québec, near the city of Valleyfield. Boomerang Tracking confirmed the theft with the transportation company within minutes of receiving the alarm and a tracking team was immediately dispatched.

The Boomerang tracking team located the missing cab on a farm in Saint-Jacques-le-Mineur, Québec and the Sûreté du Québec police were immediately notified. At the scene, two 45-foot freezer trailers - one from Quebec and one from Ontario - were also recovered, each carrying a cargo of frozen goods with an estimated total value of over $220,000. The Napierville division of the Sûreté du Québec made two arrests on the scene and the K-9 unit was brought in to track a third suspect. In addition, one suspect’s vehicle was found containing tools used for breaking-and-entering as well as other stolen merchandise.
